Obtaining A Marriage License
Application for Marriage License
  • An Affidavit for License to Marry must be filed with the County Clerk’s office either by mail or in person.

  • One or both applicants may apply.
  • One of the applicants must be an Antrim County resident.
  • Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. If either applicant is 16 or 17, he or she must file a Parent’s Consent Form which can be obtained from the County Clerk’s office.
  • If the Affidavit for License to Marry is filed by mail, the signature(s) must be notarized.
  • Affidavit for License to Marry may NOT be filed electronically (fax or E-mail).
    FEE - $20.00 - must be included with the Affidavit for License to Marry.
  • There is a three day waiting period after which the license may be picked up at the County Clerk’s office or mailed to applicant.
  • License must be used within thirty (30) days.



Out-of-State Applications
  • Both applicants must be out-of-Michigan residents. An Affidavit for License to Marry must be filed with the County Clerk’s office either by mail or in person.
  • One or both applicants may apply.
  • Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. If either applicant is 16 or 17, he or she must file a Parent’s Consent Form which can be obtained from the County Clerk’s office.
