Wireless Alerts on Cell Phones
FEMA/FCC is almost ready to roll out the new wireless emergency alerts to cell phones across the United States. This is an ambitious program which will attempt to send emergency alerts to your cell phone based on where the phone is located. We have just posted a story about this to our web page:

FEMA is implementing a new alert system for cell phones starting this year. Newer phones already have this app on them (this system will not work with older phones). The phones will deliver alerts anywhere in the country, based on the geo-location of the phone.

Only newer phones will have the ability to receive these warnings. The following link has info on exactly which phone models will have the alerts:
