911 Board 2007 Minutes

CALL TO ORDER: By Chairman Johnson at 3:05 PM.

 

Approval of Agenda:

On a motion by Trumble, seconded by Robinson the agenda for

May 9 was approved.

 

Public comment:

Bill Cato reported that he had received a letter approximately in November from some SOB at the county to change his address from McPherson Rd to Musico Dr. Cato explained that his address was 121 McPherson Rd, than was changed to 9416 McPherson Rd when 9-1-1 went into effect approximately 20 years ago. Cato wants his address to remain the same, 9416 McPherson Rd. (911 Board) Thanked Mr. Cato for addressing the 9-1-1 Board. The Board will look into the matter and send Mr. Cato a reply.

 

Approval of Minutes:

On a motion by Trumble, supported by Bargy, the meeting minutes of March 14, 2007 were approved with one correction – The Operations Update entry on the emergency button should read $50,000 initially, not per year.

 

FINANCIAL REPORT:

The February 2007 Trial Balance reports were presented showing Fund # 259 911- Training with a fund balance of $11, 518.74, Fund # 261 – 911 Operating with a Fund Balance of $366,954.45, and Fund # 262 - 911 Wireless with a fund balance of $185,430.10. Motion by Thompson seconded by Trumble to approve the February 2007 Financial Report. Approved

 

The March 2007 Trial Balance reports were presented showing

Fund # 259 911 – Training with a fund balance of $11,219.32, Fund # 261 – 911 Operating with a fund balance of $371,842.91, and Fund # 262 – 911 Wireless with a fund balance of $168,018.95. Motion by Trumble seconded by Thompson to approve the March 2007 Financial Report. Approved

 

OPERATIONS UPDATE:

Sgt Bratschi reported that two (2) dispatchers, Kris Burda and Nick Carpenters were hired on May 6, 2007. Both are in an EMD training this week in Traverse City. Sgt Bratschi attended the 800 MHz Train-the-trainer training in April. Templates have been installed in all of the radio’s with the exception of one that required a firmware reload. March 2007 Cad events: FIRE – 117, EMS – 136, LAW – 1,984. April 2007 CAD events: FIRE – 85, EMS – 128, LAW – 1,594. 2006 Wireline Surcharge revenue was $487,916.73. 2007 Wireline surcharge revenue is averaging $39,000 per month thru March. Sgt Bratschi spoke of the two senate bills 410 & 411 that were submitted to the house, both bills being drafted to replace Public ACT 32 which has a sunset at the end of this year.
